Dan Rogers will become CEO of Asana on July 21, 2025, succeeding co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, who transitions to Board Chair. Moskovitz, who launched Asana in 2008 after co-founding Meta, will remain active in shaping product vision and driving the company’s artificial intelligence strategy.

Rogers brings a strong track record from roles as CEO at LaunchDarkly (since 2023), President at Rubrik, and Chief Marketing Officer at ServiceNow, where he helped scale revenues past $4.5 billion. His leadership is seen as crucial as Asana, now serving over 170,000 customers—including more than 85% of the Fortune 500—pushes further into AI-powered work management.

Financially, Asana reports annual revenue above $700 million, with gross profit margins at 89.4% and a solid balance sheet. The company’s AI Studio software recently surpassed $1 million in quarterly revenue, underscoring its AI momentum.

Rogers’ compensation includes a $650,000 base salary, a matching annual target bonus, and $35 million in restricted stock units, a notable contrast to Moskovitz’s symbolic $5 total compensation over the last five years. Lorrie Norrington, Asana’s Lead Independent Director, praised Moskovitz’s vision and expressed confidence in Rogers’s ability to drive the next phase of growth.

Rogers said he’s “honored to lead Asana during this period of extraordinary transformation,” emphasizing his commitment to building on the company’s foundation as AI reshapes the future of work. This leadership handoff marks a significant moment for Asana as it bets big on the next wave of workplace innovation.
