Google’s AI Mode is changing how we search online. The usual search box has become a tool for real-world actions. What started as a test for a small group now goes global. As of August 21, AI Mode is available in English in over 180 new countries and territories. This is a big step beyond its first launches in the U.S., U.K., and India.
The latest update gives AI Mode “agentic” skills. Now, it doesn’t just find facts, it helps finish tasks. The biggest new feature is restaurant booking. It connects with sites like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock to find spots that match your date, group size, food style, time, and location. The AI checks each booking site, makes a live shortlist, and puts you one click away from making a reservation. This means Google’s AI is now acting for you, not just giving answers.
And there is more to come. Google plans to add features for booking local services and event tickets. Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, and Booksy are among the providers that will work with the new system. Business owners should check that their Google profiles and site data are up to date, since this move could bring more customers right to their door.
Personalization is stronger, too. In the U.S., people in Labs see dining results that match their past searches, map usage, and chats. If you love vegan places with outdoor tables or always choose Italian, AI Mode remembers. Users can change privacy controls at any time to decide what info is shared and how it’s used.
Google also added a new way to plan together. With the new share feature, a user can send a session to family or friends. They can join in, change the search, or add new details , which is a great help for group planning for trips or meals. The sender can remove access at any time.
At the core of it all is Project Mariner. This tech lets Google’s AI act like a person online. It clicks, fills forms, and gathers current details to help you take action, not just find information.
Simply put, AI Mode is now much more than an answer machine. It is your partner for real tasks in daily life. Google Search is now about getting things done, not just looking them up. Agentic AI is not on the way, it’s arrived.
