Perplexity AI just made a huge move, teaming up with Snap in a partnership valued at $400 million. This deal means that Perplexity’s powerful AI search engine will soon become part of the Snapchat experience for more than 940 million users worldwide.

Instead of just using the app for chatting and stories, Snapchat users will be able to ask questions and get AI-powered answers from Perplexity, right inside their usual conversations. The feature will launch early next year as part of Snapchat’s “My AI” chatbot, helping users get information instantly without ever leaving the app.

The timing of this partnership matches up with Snap’s strong recent results. In the third quarter of 2025, Snap posted $1.51 billion in revenue (up 10% from last year) and reduced its loss to $104 million. And interest in Snapchat+ continues to climb, now boasting over 17 million subscribers.

With this collaboration, Snap is betting big on using AI to change how its huge community finds answers and explores new topics. For Perplexity, joining forces with Snapchat could introduce its smart search engine to a massive, young audience and reshape how people get information in their favorite apps.
