At GeniusFirms, reviews work best when everyone knows they’re coming from real people. By verifying your identity, you help keep our community safe, honest, and transparent.

Verification also adds more credibility to your reviews — making businesses and other users trust your voice even more.

Don’t worry — your personal details and ID are never shared publicly on GeniusFirms. Only your verification badge will be visible on your profile.

Verification is optional, but having the Verified Reviewer badge makes your profile and reviews more credible.

How do we verify you?

We use a secure third-party verification partner to check that you are who you say you are. The process is simple and usually takes just a few minutes.

You’ll be asked to:

  • Upload a photo of your official ID (passport, driver’s license, or government-issued ID card)
  • Take a selfie so we can confirm you match the photo on the ID

That’s it! Once verified, your profile will display a Verified Reviewer badge.

What ID can I use?

Currently, we accept:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s license
  • National ID card
  • Residence permit

Make sure you upload a clear picture of the original ID (not a screenshot or photocopy). Otherwise, verification may fail.

How to start verification

You can begin the verification process in two ways:

1. From your profile settings

  • Log in to GeniusFirms
  • Go to My Profile → Verification
  • Click Start Verification and follow the steps

2. After posting a review

  • Once you submit a review, you’ll see a prompt to verify
  • Click Verify Now and complete the quick process

Removing your verification

If you no longer want to keep your account verified, you can remove the badge anytime from your Profile Settings → Verification.

You can always re-verify later if you change your mind.

We also accept national ID cards and residence permits. If you don’t have any of these, you can still review on GeniusFirms — verification is optional.

4. Can I verify from my phone?

Yes! You can complete verification from a desktop or mobile device with a camera. Mobile is often faster since the selfie can be taken live.

5. Can I edit my ID details after verification?

No. Once verified, your account is tied to the information on your ID. If your name or details change, you’ll need to re-verify.

6. Will verification affect my existing reviews?

No. Verification only adds a badge to your profile. Your existing reviews stay intact, and your new reviews will carry the verified status.

7. I tried verification and it failed — what now?

Most failures happen due to blurry ID photos or mismatched selfies. Make sure the ID is clear, the selfie is live, and try again. You can contact support if problems persist.

8. Can I verify multiple accounts?

Each person can only verify one account. This helps maintain fairness and trust across the platform.

9. How long does verification take?

Most users are verified within minutes. Occasionally, extra checks may take a little longer, but you’ll be notified when it’s complete.

10. I’m under 18 — can I verify?

Only users 18 and older can verify an account. Users under 18 can still leave reviews without a badge.
