Editorial standards
How we research, write, review and correct everything published on GeniusFirms — and what we will not publish at any price.
How an article gets published
Every page on GeniusFirms goes through the same four stages. Nothing is published without a named person signing off on it.
-
Research from primary sources
We start with the product itself: the vendor's documentation, pricing pages, changelogs and, where a trial or free tier exists, hands-on use. Where we rely on a third party — a research firm, a news report, a benchmark — we name it and link to it rather than restating it as our own finding.
-
Drafting by a named writer
A writer from our team drafts against a brief that sets out what a reader needs to decide: what the tool does, what it costs, who it suits, and where it falls short. AI tools may be used to assist with research and first drafts. That output is raw material, never finished copy, and nothing is published straight from a model.
-
Editorial review
An editor checks every claim, price and feature against the source it came from, cuts anything that cannot be supported, and confirms the page tells a reader something they could not get from the vendor's own website. Drafts that do not clear that bar are sent back or rejected, not published thin.
-
Publication, updating and removal
Every article carries an author byline and a date. Software pricing and features move quickly, so we revisit pages as products change. When a page can no longer be brought up to standard, we remove it rather than leave inaccurate advice online.
What we will not publish
These rules apply to staff writers and outside contributors alike.
Content copied or lightly reworded
Every submission is checked for originality. Spun, paraphrased or scraped work is rejected, and articles that reproduce a vendor's marketing copy without independent analysis are not published as editorial.
Pages written for search engines
We do not publish near-duplicate articles on the same product to capture more queries, and we do not produce content in volume where one well-researched page would serve the reader better.
Undisclosed promotional content
Sponsored placements are labelled as sponsored and their links carry rel="sponsored". Coverage that reads as editorial is editorial, and no vendor can pay for it.
Topics outside our scope
We cover software, AI tools, SaaS platforms and the companies behind them. Coverage that falls outside that remit is declined, and older content that drifted from it has been removed.
Anonymous or invented bylines
Every article names its author, and every author has a profile a reader can check. We do not publish under pseudonyms or invented personas.
Manipulative outbound links
Editors review every external link. Links added for ranking rather than for the reader are removed, and contributed articles are not a route to placing them.
Accuracy and corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and prices and features change without notice. When a reader tells us a page is inaccurate, an editor checks it against the source and either corrects the page or removes it. Substantive corrections are noted on the page itself rather than made silently.
Anyone can report an error at [email protected]. Including the page URL helps us act on it faster.
Independence
GeniusFirms earns from display advertising, sponsored placements and affiliate links. None of that affects what we write about a product or the score it receives. Listing a tool is free, paying us never changes a rating, and no vendor sees coverage before it publishes. Our advertising and affiliate disclosure sets out the commercial detail.
Reviews and ratings
User reviews are published only after the reviewer's identity is verified. We do not accept payment for a review, a rating or a position in a comparison, and we do not remove a review because a vendor dislikes it. Vendors can reply publicly and can dispute reviews that breach our guidelines. Our rating methodology explains how scores are calculated and our review policy covers disputes.
Who is responsible
GeniusFirms is published by Socialbent, a registered Indian firm based in Gurugram, Haryana. Editorial decisions — what we cover, what we publish and what we take down — rest with our editorial team and are not made by advertisers, vendors or commercial partners.
Questions about these standards, or about a specific article, go to [email protected]. Formal removal and legal requests go to [email protected]. Our full company details are on the contact page.
We are reviewing everything published before 2026. We are working through our back catalogue article by article against the standards on this page. Pages that are thin, outdated, duplicated, off-topic or promotional without disclosure are being removed rather than rewritten, which is why some older links now return a not-found page. What remains has been checked against these standards.
